Speeds
Broadband speeds
We want you to know what speed you’ll get before you sign up — and what happens if it isn’t right.
Before you buy
- We show you the estimated speed range at your address, including the speed you can expect at busy times.
- We give you a guaranteed minimum download speed, which is also in your contract summary.
If your speed drops
If your download speed falls below your guaranteed minimum, tell us. We’ll investigate and try to fix it within 30 days.
Your right to leave
If we can’t fix it within 30 days, you can leave your broadband contract — and any landline or TV bought with it — without paying any early termination charges.
Things that can affect your speed
- Wi-Fi: walls, distance from the router and other devices.
- Your devices and their age.
- The number of people using the connection at the same time.
- Busy times on the internet, usually 8pm to 10pm.
We follow Ofcom’s Voluntary Code of Practice on broadband speeds.
